Proud to be an American

Discovering more of this great country is really why we travel.  On a trip to Houston, we visited the Houston Space Center where we marveled at the accomplishments of these brave men and women in the name of space exploration.  As we toured the mission control facilities, the mock up and training areas, and the atlas rocket facility we again were amazed at what the United States of America can accomplish when Americans put their minds and spirits to the tasks.
We travelled to Houston to visit our friends Gay and Don Scruggs and can you believe it - we did not take a single picture with them.  Although we had a great visit and renewed our friendship, our time was too short and our planning was little off.  But as we have said so many times - watch out we will return!  Hopefully, we can stay longer and maybe even remember to take pictures.

Our San Antonio backyard would not be complete without a trip to the San Antonio Riverwalk.  The riverwalk is truly one of the sights not to be missed if you visit this wonderful city.  Although the Alamo is just a block away, we do not think it compares to walking along the riverwalk.  The smells from the restaurants, the beautiful old buildings, the people, and of course the atmosphere of the riverwalk make it a very special place to visit.  If you can image the canals of Venice and Amesterdam blended with the southwest Spanish flair for beauty you will have the San Antonio riverwalk!

Relaxing and enjoying the beautiful end of the day with friends, what could be better than this!  We finally have some beautiful days to enjoy.   We have many more sights to see around our San Antonio backyard and will be posting more pictures of our adventures here in South Texas before we head west to Tucson, Az to visit our friends Tom and Maryann Graue.

If our friends and family remember our Christmas letter, we always close by saying "Watch out - you may see a motorhome coming your way"!  Our adventures continue and we are enjoying life while we explore our backyard.  We hope you all are also living your dream and living life to the fullest!
